Event Calendar

REUNION: May 9-11, 2024

Our 2024 reunion will be held Thursday through Saturday, May 9-11, to avoid Central Coast events and crowds.

GolfBBQTHURSDAY, MAY 9: Practice golf round in Nipomo followed by BBQ and garage party for golfers and non-golfers at W'72 Larry "TA" Everett's home: 1050 La Serenata Way, Nipomo. TA 805-550-2459. This is a great "just hit town" kick-off event for everyone!

GolfFRIDAY, MAY 10: DSP's 11th annual 21st Century Fund Golf Tournament in Nipomo will provide scholarships and training to new members via DSP Foundation. Player costs are not yet established but expected to be around $100. Tee Sponsorships are encouraged! In 2023 "Tee" Sponsorships were $200 and "Executive" Sponsorships were $500.

BBQFRIDAY, MAY 10th - Dinner Options! Here is one example being discussed:

Friday evening is intentionally left "open" to allow alums to group-up and go where they want! One of the options being discussed by W'73 Yabut and Carol Patterson is a no-host gathering in Morro Bay for everyone and all eras at "The Great American Fish Company". They have great food, views, parking, and a large all-glass banquet room! Non-golfers, wives, etc., could come out early to walk the "Embarcadero" and visit shops, galleries, and wine taste! Say tuned for details! RSVP helpful - no prepayment. We hope to time dinner so Nipomo golfers can join the group - and we can all watch sundown.

ACB will be held at a time and place to be announced - but probably at Embassy Suites in SLO.

Current ACB officers are listed in the web site's page "Alumni Corporation Board".

BBQOur "Poly P Scholarship"

Once again, our DSP alumni dinner-dance fundraises for our philanthropic Poly P Scholarship for first-year, non-Greek, men and women students based on merit and need. To date, since program inception by Yabut and Carol Patterson, alumni have donated $21,500 directly to deserving students. The scholarship provides alumni a collective way to give back while honoring our older brothers who built the "P" in 1957. Whether you attend reunion or not, please consider becoming a Poly P Scholarship Patron for $100 a couple. Donations are not tax deductible. Thank you. The Scholarship can be viewed at www.PolyPScholarship.com.

Help Wanted! No Pay but Very Rewarding!

We all warmly encourage our alumni from the '80's, '90's, and more recent decades to become involved in reunion planning! Please suggest and consider chairing a new event! What about offering to co-chair an existing event? Alumni, and alumni couples, are genuinely needed to continue the work of helping us to gather, celebrate our bond, and promote our chapter's future!

As an event co-chair or chair, you often meet a great many alums of your decade - as well as networking with alums of other eras! For some, the best way to start may be by taking a first small step - such as asking, "How can I help?".
